Fluidic Realm & Travel

In the beginning, players will find themselves next to a fluidic system located within fluidic space. This system and other systems are contained within a fluidic sector. There are a total of 21 sectors in this area of fluidic space. Within a system, there are multiple planetoids to explore. From smallest to largest, fluidic space consists of: Planetoids -> Fluidic Systems -> Fluidic Sectors -> Fluidic Realm

Fluidic System Travel

Players will encounter various creatures in the fluidic systems, explore new systems, and engage in combat scenarios with opponents. In unlocked systems, players can move freely.

Fluidic Sector Travel

Players must unlock all of the fluidic systems in one sector before traveling to the next one. Between sectors are channels that connect them to each other. Players travel between the sectors via these channels.

Factions

There are two factions in the game: The United Federation of Planets and the Klingon Empire. Players choose one when creating a character. In Star Trek: Alien Domain, these two factions have found themselves competing against each other in fluidic space. No attacks are allowed against members of one’s own faction.

Upgrade

Players obtain EXP primarily by completing tasks and combat scenarios in systems in the early stages of the game, but players can earn additional EXP every day from elite levels and daily tasks, which offer more EXP.

As players level up, they can enter more advanced sectors. The elite levels in the advanced sectors can net players more advanced weapons, starship blueprints, and items. All of these are key to increasing  a player’s strength in the game.

Planetoid Development & Resources

Planetoid development is an important part of the game. Resource production, resource storage, starship building, starship repair, unlocking tech, and tech upgrades are all performed through structures built on a player’s planetoid(s).

The resource output from a planetoid is also one of the important sources of revenue, so players should level up their resource buildings as high as possible. Upgrading resource storage can not only increase the size of resource storage, but also protect more resources from being plundered by opposing players.

Colonization

Besides the player’s home base, players can also create new colonies. They mainly offer starports and resource production for fleets, though they are not as efficient as the player’s home base.

Unlike the home base, colonies may be plundered by players from the opposing faction. Therefore, players must increase their fleet power and build defensive satellites to protect these colonies.

Starships and Fleet

Starships are the main combat and transportation units in the game. The prime objective is to obtain stronger starships to defend your faction and base from enemy attacks.

To build a new starship, players must meet three requirements: shipyard level, technology level, and unlocked starship blueprint(s). Players can meet the first two requirements by upgrading buildings and researching various technologies. For starship blueprints, players must clear elite levels to find and obtain them.

Blueprints

Most of the advanced starships require blueprints to be built. Players can find and collect them in elite levels.

The blueprint data is usually divided into several fragments. To complete a blueprint, players must collect all of its fragments. Once players have a completed blueprint, they will have unlocked the ability to construct the corresponding starship.

Repair

A starship’s shield will recover to the maximum amount after each battle, but its hull durability won’t recover without repair.

To repair a starship, proceed to a shipyard or starport. Since the resources spent for repair are much less than the rebuilding cost, it is much more cost-effective to repair than to rebuild. However, if the shipyard or starport is at a low level, only 70% of a starship’s maximum hull durability can be recovered.

Emergency repair is also available as long as the player has a Repair Robot[Can this name be changed to something else? Repair Kit?]. This is a consumable and can only recover durability to 70%.

Formations

There are front and back rows to choose from when arranging fleet formations. The targets in the front row will be under attack first, but some area attack skills can still damage targets in the back row.

The most common practice for formation adjustment is to place the defensive starships in the front row and offensive starships in the back row.

Flagship

Players control a flagship and can choose to release its special skills manually in battle, while other ships cannot use skills. Using skills is crucial to determining the result of the battle, so be sure to protect flagships at all times.

Officers

Players can recruit officers and appoint them to starships. Different officers have different attributes and can boost basic starship abilities. For example, the attribute Command can increase a starship’s attack ability, and an Ability unique to a captain can provide additional special functions.

Players can level up an officer to increase the officer’s attributes. However, the officer’s Ability won’t increase with their level. Hence, officers with a high level Ability in the beginning of the game are deemed more valuable.
